TCS bags multi-million dollar deal from Nuuday of Denmark

Tata Consultancy Services signed an agreement with Nuuday, the Denmark-based digital connectivity and communications provider, to implement a complex cloud transformation. As part of this multi-million-dollar deal, TCS will take full responsibility for Nuuday’s IT infrastructure and migrate it to the TCS hybrid cloud.

Nuuday’s move to TCS’ Enterprise Cloud Platform, a next-gen hybrid cloud architecture with built-in tools and accelerators, will reduce the time to market for new products and services. It will result in enhanced experiences for customers and employees of Nuuday, which delivers connectivity products and digital services to over 4.1 million Danish homes and 1.8 million businesses. TCS will also offer personalised digital workplace services leveraging the TCS Cognix platform.

IT spending in India to grow by 11% in 2024: IDC

The International Data Corporation (IDC) said IT spending in India for 2024 is expected to grow 11% annually to reach $44 billion in 2024.

In 2023, despite economic headwinds and uncertainty, Indian enterprises continued to invest in digital to increase customer engagement and satisfaction, launch new products and services, and improve operational efficiency to drive revenue growth and profitability. They allocated their budgets mainly to software, application development, and cloud migrations, a reflection of their judiciousness to make their hardware assets work longer and elongate refresh cycles.

As India’s digital economy continues to thrive in 2024 and beyond, IDC expects IT spending in India to accelerate at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.9% over the coming years to cross the $59 billion mark in 2027 with the software market consistently showing double-digit growth across the forecasted years.

Generative AI (Gen AI) will continue to accelerate AI adoption in India with more leading organisations exploring or investing in Gen AI use cases. As technology leaders realise AI’s pivotal role in their digital-first strategies, IDC forecasts that investments in Gen AI by 2027 will be 26% of the overall AI spend in the country or a CAGR of 101.6%.
