Hero MotoCorp brings new 110cc scooter Xoom at Rs 68,599
Hero MotoCorp is offering Xoom in five colour options, including Black, Sports Red, Polestar Blue, Pearl Silver White, and Matt Abrax Orange.
Hero MotoCorp bolstered its scooter range with a new addition in the form of Xoom. Available in three variants, including LX, VX, and ZX, prices for the 110cc scooter start at Rs 68,599, whereas the latter two variants are priced at Rs 71,799 and Rs 76,699, respectively (all prices are ex-showroom).
Bookings for the scooter will open at all Hero showrooms across the country from February 1. Xoom is the third 110cc scooter offering from Hero after Pleasure Plus and Maestro Edge 110. It will lock horns with other 110cc scooters like Honda Activa, Dio, and TVS Jupiter.
Styling and features
Xoom is arguably the sportiest-looking scooter from Hero MotoCorp with its sharp styling, thanks to an LED projector headlamp with an H-shaped DRL nestled within the front apron with a sculpted profile.
The sleek bodywork, along with trapezoidal turn signals and trendy rear-view mirrors, lends the scooter a youthful appeal. Hero MotoCorp is offering Xoom in five colour options, including Black, Sports Red, Polestar Blue, Pearl Silver White, and Matt Abrax Orange.
It boasts a healthy dose of features, including cornering lights—a first for any scooter in India. Xoom is equipped with a gyroscopic/accelerometer sensor that sends a signal to the cornering lamps once the scooter is leaned into a corner when in motion. It gets a decent under-seat storage space, although it misses out on an external fuel filler lid.
Other features offered in the package include LED illumination, diamond-cut alloy wheels, a USB charging port, glove box and boot light, side stand engine cutoff switch, and a fully digital instrument panel with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity. The Hero Connect App offers real-time call/message notifications along with live tracking, geo-fence alert, topple alert, tow away alert, vehicle start alert, navigation, and trip analysis.
Hardware and powertrain
Xoom is based on the same platform underpinning Pleasure Plus and Maestro Edge 110 but has been re-tuned with a new suspension setup with telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends as standard, with an optional disc brake at the front with a Bybre calliper offered in the top-spec ZX trim.
The scooter rolls on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with 90/90 front and 90/80 rear tyres (100/90 for the VX and ZX trims). LX and VX variants weigh 108kg, while the ZX weighs 109 kg. It gets a fuel tank capacity of 5.2 litres for all three variants.
Powering Xoom is a 110.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8.05 bhp and 8.70 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are carried out by a CVT automatic gearbox. It also benefits from Hero’s i3S technology—the brand’s idle start/stop system—which helps conserve fuel by automatically switching off the engine when idle.
