The Maharashtra Startup Week is now accepting applications through its portal! This marks the 6th edition of the annual event, with more than 120 previous winners who have gone on to collaborate with a variety of government organisations. If you're interested in participating, here's everything you need to know about this exciting upcoming startup event. Keep reading for all the details!

The Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS) under the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation has commenced its annual startup event to foster innovative startups, known as the Maharashtra Startup Week (MSW).

The best part of this event is that startups across India can participate! According to the official website, startups from sectors such as education and skilling, agriculture, sustainability, smart infrastructure, health tech, mobility and logistics, etc are invited to submit their applications.

It is important to note that participants can apply for this event until 1st August 2024.

To boost the scope of the event. Minister Lodha has stated that a national-level grand conclave focusing on startups will be held in the state. The main objective of this conference is to provide startups with investment opportunities by promoting collaboration between the startup ecosystem and investors.

The selection process and prize

Out of the entire pool of applicants, the top 100 startups will be chosen to showcase their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. In the next round, around 24 startups from various sectors will be selected. When it comes to the prize, the winning startups will receive government work orders up to Rs. 15 lakhs each. They will also get a chance to collaborate with various government departments in Maharashtra. They will get additional benefits like connection opportunities with mentors, and investors, cloud credits, and access to multiple programs as well.

How to apply for Maharashtra Startup Week?

Interested applicants need to visit the official website of the Maharashtra State Innovation Society. Startups can visit the site and click on the banner of Maharashtra Startup Week. A new window will open with the application form that needs to be filled appropriately and that's it!

The website has also shared a guide for a startup pitch deck with all requirements that you can access here. If you are interested in participating in this startup flagship event, knowing the eligibility criteria listed below is important!

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra Startup Week

  • The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) must recognise the startup.
  • The business should have a deployment-ready Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Startups must present products or solutions that are suitable to the Government of Maharashtra.
  • Startups participating should not have won in previous Maharashtra Startup Week editions.
