Maharashtra Startup Week 2024 aims to help pilot ground-breaking innovations by startups and grow the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Startups have emerged as the driving force behind innovation and growth in the dynamic landscape of the Indian economy. And Maharashtra has been at the forefront of this entrepreneurial wave, fostering a vibrant ecosystem that nurtures innovation and startups.
Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha stated that Maharashtra has the highest number of startups in the country and is playing a vital role in boosting the country's startup ecosystem.
In its sixth edition, Maharashtra Startup Week is inviting startups across India from sectors such as medtech, education and skilling, agritech, biotechnology, blockchain, AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, data science, smart infra and mobility, deeptech, sustainability, and smart governance.
One hundred and twenty startups winners of the first five editions had worked closely with government agencies like the National Health Mission, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, municipal corporations, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Department of Skills, Employment, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Rural Development Department, and others.
An exclusive jury panel of government representatives, investors, incubators, industry and academic experts will assess the products and services of the top 100 startups selected from the pool of applications. Along with advantages from the Startup Week partner network, they will receive access to workshops, investor connect sessions, cloud credits and more.
A work order of up to Rs 15 lakh each is available to the top 24 startups to further support their growth path. The government of Maharashtra will collaborate with a number of government bodies to carry out these pilot projects.
The Maharashtra State Innovation Society will also provide winning startups with access to government experts, data, mentors, and any other resources, for a maximum of 12 months.
