Meet Suyash Dixit, self-proclaimed king of unclaimed land between Egypt and Sudan
On a recent trip to Africa, Suyash Dixit from Indore came across a 2,071-sqkm no man's land south of the Egypt-Sudan border. The land remains unclaimed because while Egypt follows the British-set boundaries dating back to 1899, Sudan follows the border established in 1902. Identifying it as unclaimed land, Suyash went on to call it 'Kingdom of Dixit'.
He took the announcement to Facebook where he also mentioned his gruelling journey from Indore to Bir Tawil.
According to a report by CN Traveller, Suyash said that though others have tried before, the land is now his because according to early civilisation ethics and rules, if you want to claim a land, you need to grow crops on it and he has sown a seed and poured water on it. He also declared his brother the prime minister and head of the military and his father the president of the newly formed country. As a birthday present to his father, Suyash also planted a flag to mark his territory.
Suyash also mentioned that he will be writing to the United Nations regarding the formation of his country.
Taking a cue from the popular TV show Game of Thrones, Suyash said in his Facebook post,
"I, Suyash Dixit, first of my name and the protector of the realm, declare myself as the king of 'Kingdom of Dixit'. I call myself King Suyash First from today."
Suyash also said that he is inviting foreign investments and nationality applications for his country.
"In this epic voyage, there were times when we thought the car just could not make it any further or we didn't have enough fuel or we just didn't have time to cross that hill but a little courage and some math is all you need sometimes."
