Work smart

You don't need to put in long hours to be more productive. You can accomplish a week's worth of work in 30 hours instead of putting in 40 hours. You can do this by sticking to to-do lists, assigning deadlines to various tasks, and not getting distracted easily.

Keep your cell phone use to a minimum

Even if you avoid picking up your phone every five minutes, your mind wanders every time it buzzes. Try to switch your phone off during work hours. If that's not possible, keep it away from your sight so that you're not tempted to use it.

Take a quick nap

This habit may not be doable for everyone. However, if you manage to convince your boss to allow you to take a power nap for even half an hour, you will be recharged when you wake up and you'll react better under pressure.

Vent

We all feel frustrated at work at some point. However, bottling up frustrations will only lead to mental fatigue. Instead, talk to your colleagues or friends about what's bothering you and take their solution to ease your stress.

Work out

According to researchers in the Department of Exercise Science at the University of Georgia, 'Exercising improves brain functions related to memory and processing'. Working out daily will not only better your health, but it will also improve your output. A daily 20-minute run will increase your problem-solving capabilities and you'll be able to complete your tasks more efficiently.

Go to bed early

Retiring early lets you get longer hours of sleep and wake up fresh the next morning. Starting your day sooner than usual will give you a chance to eat a wholesome breakfast and indulge in activities like hitting the gym or reading a book which will energise you for the rest of the day.

Take regular breaks

It is important to give your mind some time to relax in the middle of long working hours. Take regular short breaks by dividing your day into smaller tasks and you'll find that you are able to accomplish a greater number of things and be more productive.

The most effective way to be productive is to try to be better than the person you were yesterday. Use the above mentioned seven techniques to supercharge your productivity like never before.
