Akshay Kumar is a well-known humanitarian and philanthropist, and he often expresses his views on his official Twitter handle. He has spoken about women's safety in the past, saying it is not our option to respect women in the country, but a deep foundation that the society has to adhere to.

Akshay Kumar has also suggested that the country come together to help the families of the martyrs from the national defence and armed forces financially, irrespective of the compensations the government takes care of. He strongly believes that it is just not the government's responsibility to stand up for the welfare of the brave soldiers, but that every citizen is accountable for it as well. He spoke about a platform where citizens could be connected to the family members of martyrs through an app or website, where they could make financial transfers to a verified account of one of the family members.

Here is the video where he asks the public to support him so that he can get the app designed and produced himself, with permissions from the Indian Army and support from the Government of India.
