Chandigarh-based Jugnoo acquihired online fresh fruit and vegetable store - SubKuchFresh. The company is looking to reinvigorate its consumer facing delivery service Fatafat. SubKuchFresh has presence in tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula). With this acquisition, Jugnoo is also planning to expand the delivery service to Gurgaon by next month.

As a part of the deal, SubKuchFresh founders will join Jugnoo headquarters in Chandigarh. The company has tied-up with more than 100 farmers and has good presence in farmland places adjacent to tricity.

Importantly, Jugnoo had started fatafat in early 2015 but soon had to roll back due to the poor demand. Recently, the company announced the second tranche of Series B funding round from Paytm and others. YourStory tried reaching Samar Singla to get more details of acqui-hire, however he remains unreachable.

Founded by Samar Singla and Chinmay Agarwal, Jugnoo is essentially an auto-rickshaw aggregators and claims to enable 35,000 transactions on a daily basis. Jugnoo secured three tranches of Series B funding in November 2015, January and April 2016 respectively. However, the total amount of funding raised in this round remains unclear. Earlier, the company raised $5 million Series A round from Snow Leopard and Paytm in the first half of 2015.

Earlier, Jugnoo acqui-hired Yelo, a peer-to-peer mobile platform, to tap the potential of content discovery, and Chandigarh-based Bistro last year. Bistro offers a DIY platform for broadcasting offers and managing loyalty for restaurants.

In the past, Jugnoo claimed to acquire Mumbai-based BookMyCab and Pune based Autowale in 2015. However, both deals fell through for some unknown reasons. The company also claimed that it’s foraying in global markets including Malaysia, which according to recent updates seems to have gone haywire.
