Singapore-based MobiKon, a marketing and customer engagement platform for restaurants, has raised undisclosed amount from Life.SREDA and Qualgro. The platform will utilize the funding to scale its business in South East Asia. It also aims to double the number of employees by the end of this year and target 200 percent revenue growth this fiscal.

Founded by Samir Khadepaun and Salil Khamkar, Mobikon provides a single dashboard for the entire spectrum of restaurants — quick service, fine dine, casual dine, and cafes to engage customers intelligently with integration across ordering, reservations, feedback, and marketing.

“This strategic funding will boost Mobikon’s expansion in South East Asia. Besides the funding, Qualgro and Life.Sreda bring in a huge network of mPOS and Cloud POS players which will help the platform to scale quickly. We are very excited to have them on board and this will surely help us to further strengthen the market leadership positioning in customer engagement and marketing,” says Samir Khadepaun, Co-founder and CEO of Mobikon.

He adds that funds will help Mobikon invest in creating new tech infrastructure and provide restaurants with better products and faster upgrades. Mobikon is soon planning to launch a complete new platform focused on restaurant social engagement.

Mobikon was chosen amongst eight tech startups under LifeSREDA’s accelerator programme in July this year. This funding is a part of the accelerator programme. Heang Chhor, Director of Qualgro, will be joining the board of Mobikon.

"The Food & Beverage space is becoming increasingly competitive and complex. Mobikon provides a real-time feedback loop between restaurateurs and their customers and does so with a simple and easy-to-use interface. We were impressed by the quality of the Mobikon team and how restaurateurs have embraced the product – it’s making a difference to their businesses and the end-customer experience," says Heang Chhor.

This has been the third round of funding for the platform. Prior to this round, in July, it raised $ 2.3 million funding led by Singapore-based Jungle Ventures. During 2012-2013, it had snapped up USD 2.7 million from Jungle Ventures, Spring Singapore, and Lion Rock. During August this year, it announced the acquisition Trii.be, a customer feedback management company, for an undisclosed amount.

Mobikon claims that after the Triibe acquisition two months ago, the platform’s revenues from international markets jumped from 40 per cent to 55 per cent and is expected to reach 65 per cent by the end of this financial year.

The Mobikon platform currently powers 65,000 plus reviews, adds over 130,000 new diners and engages 6,00,000 plus diners every month. The company’s clientele base includes Copper Chimney, Pind Baluchi, Little Italy, and Pizza Express in India, and Swensens, Red Crab Group, and Select Group, globally.
