Jharkhand to focus on IT growth and entrepreneurship
Jharkhand has begun preparing a roadmap for Information and Technology with an aim to boost investments in the sector. Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba said the state has started preparing a roadmap on programmes to be taken up for IT in the next four years, an official release said.
Presiding a high-level meeting, he said the state has begun work to make Digital India and Make in India programmes a success. The government, he said, intended to achieve its goals set for IT by associating itself with commercial and educational institutions, NASSCOM, Manufacturing Association of India and Semi Conductor Manufacturing Association.
Gauba said the government was in the process of setting up of Information Technology Advisory Board comprising experts from education and industry as it aimed to promote technology and management so that entrepreneurship could be developed and different applications could be implemented.
The meeting, attended among others by Chief Executive Officer (Telecom Sector Skill Council) S P Kochhar, discussed about skill training of youth as it could play an important role in the IT sector, the release said. The state would discuss its IT policy in its next meeting on November 23, it added.
