LinkedIn comes out with a new and improved avatar of its mobile app for Android and iOS
Breaking the ice is one of the most crucial aspects of any business or social interaction. Many are petrified at the thought of sitting across a table with a prospective business partner at a restaurant, cafe, conference room or even at Starbucks, in silence not knowing what to say next or how to take it further. These stalemates can be easily avoided by doing a bit of homework about the person or persons you are about to meet.
LinkedIn has released a new update to its Official app for Android and iOS devices to help users look up a prospective client quickly in just a glance and even portray themselves better.
New Features:
Your Professional Summary at a GlanceSee who you are at a glance. You can see how you are portraying yourself in your business circles.
A new customized Profile
Showcase your ideas and insights. All the posts you write on LinkedIn will show up on your profile.
Mutual Connections and Interests
Spark conversations. You can see what you have in common before you even meet. You can find out if you have any mutual connections and/ or interests all within the swipe of a finger and a tap on the screen.
New Opportunities and ease of use
Turn profile views into opportunities. You can make stronger connections by seeing what you have in common.
The older version of the app had sluggish and cluttered design compared to the newer version. The newer version summarizes your content and presents everything in a more user friendly manner. I wasn't very comfortable using LinkedIn on my phone and preferred to access it on my desktop or laptop only because of the issues with the previous version. Now I am quite comfortable using LinkedIn on my phone as well after the recent changes.
How does this update help you ?
The new and improved app helps you tell your story to other professionals all within a glance on the go. Not everyone is a master storyteller, so the app will figure out what is missing and help you sell your story better.
You will also be able to gather new insights about your colleagues and connections that you might not have been aware of through the “in common” and endorsements sections that LinkedIn has added.
