What is it about? 

'Discount Me' Coupon app basically helps shoppers find 10,000s of coupons and offers from various online stores across India. The app provides a curated list of coupons for anyone who is looking to make a purchase online.

The app has discount codes from over 120 online stores like Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong, Makemytrip and many more and featuring 40 categories which include travel, lifestyle, clothing, electronics. It has a separate category for discount coupons offered by various banks like ICICI, Citi Bank, SBI, etc.

The app takes up 3.3MB of space and requires Android 2.3.3 or higher to function.

The user can also ask for help and send feedback directly from within the app. It is also possible to save a few 'favorite stores' on the home screen of the app for quick and easy access.

An additional feature is to receive 'hot coupons' everyday along with other offers from popular stores.

The app currently gets coupon listing from 27coupons.com API.

The Coder Behind It: 

Pranay Airan is an Engineer at Intuit developing mobile and web apps. He is a Hustler Coder and app developer and has 7+ applications in the Google play store with 100K+ collective downloads.

He also assists the Bangalore Android User Group , which is the World’s second largest Android group, as one of the organizers.He helps in organizing and conducting events around Bangalore on android and mobile. So far he has taught more than 1500 students about the basics of Android App Development through the blrdroid teach program.

Pros and Cons: 

We tested the app over WiFi and 3G with satisfactory results. The app has a sleek User Interface and is very easy to use.

The app is rich with features that really enhance the app experience. For example the app automatically copies a coupon Code to the clipboard as soon as it is selected.

The search bar was not very functional and sometimes gave irrelevant results for certain keywords. For example the keyword 'flights' did not return any relevant results, even though 'Travel' is listed among the categories.

Also the app is currently not location specific, which is a minor inconvenience.

YS Verdict :

The app is relatively new on the Google play store but has a 4.5/5 rating.

With the surge in e-commerce, more people are preferring to shop online and as Indians we always love discounts.

This app with its sleek UI and ease of use experience will definitely act as a good companion for users while shopping online.
