Surprise your dad with Uber’s chopper ride this Father’s Day

Surprise your dad with Uber’s chopper ride this Father’s Day

Thursday June 12, 2014 , 2 min Read

If you are in Bangalore and Mumbai and looking to surprise your father this Father’s day, Uber is all set to help you.

Uber have teamed up with Johnnie Walker Blue Label to bring you an offer to ride a helicopter (that’s right!) through your Uber app.

By requesting UberCHOPPER, a private driver will transport you to the helipad, where you can take off directly for an aerial tour of Bangalore’s (Saturday) and Mumbai’s (Sunday) iconic places.

Each request for ride will be Rs. 4,999 for two persons. This includes door-to-door car service and brunch (applicable in Bangalore only). Every chopper ride can seat four persons, so you might have to share your flight with other fliers.

“Demand will be off the skies and availability will be limited. So you may have to try a few times before you can get a ride,” says the Uber blog.

This week, the company had launched its service in Pune with a mixed fleet comprising of Renault Duster, Toyota Innova, Nissan Sunny, BMW 3 Series, and Toyota Fortuner among others.

This is the first mega promotional event from Uber which recently raised a massive $1.2 billion from new and old investors.

Uber was started four years back, but the growth has been nothing short of phenomenal in this short period of time. At present, it operates in 128 cities and 37 countries around the world. It launched in India in August last year with Bangalore and expanded to Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune.
