Google begins testing domain registration, with an invite-only beta mode
Google has forayed into the world of domains, but 'Google Domains' is currently in invite-only beta mode. Google's small business-facing division found out that 55 percent of small businesses do not have their own websites. Google wants to help small businesses, in establishing their online presence by helping them get their desired domains. Website building providers Squarespace, Wix, Weebly and Shopify have signed on as partners. The only drawback being, that Google domains won't include hosting.
When Google Domains launches to the public, users will be able to buy and sell domains through the service. Users will be able to create up to 100 email addresses on the domain and as many as 100 customized sub-domains. Google Domains will also use the company’s own DNS servers, so visitors should get quick response times when they visit your website.
Google Voice now supports Indian Accents
Google Voice search now supports Indian accents. The new technology now recognizes English spoken even in heavily accented Indian English.
This new feature highlights Google's commitment to India and its desire to continuously improve users search experiences.Google collected spoken utterances from Indian volunteers, by asking them to read popular search queries in a variety of conditions like restaurants, crowded streets, inside cars etc to best reflect real life situations.
The voice search is currently available to Android users running on versions 2.3 or above, on iOS devices like iPhones and iPads and also to Windows users through Chrome browser.
Blackberry Launches a budget smartphone: Z3
BlackBerry has launched a new budget smartphone titled 'Z3' in India for INR 15,900.It sports 5-inch display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8230) dual-core processor and runs on 1.5GB of RAM. It runs on BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1, the latest iteration of the OS.
This version offers new features that include Blackberry Maps, local search, and 3D voice guided turn-by-turn directions for users in India. The BlackBerry keyboard also supports Hindi and Hinglish predictive input.
The phone has a 5MP rear shooter, a 1.1 MP front facing camera, comes with 8GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 32GB. It also includes a 2500mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, FM radio and GPS.
HTC Desire 516 now available Online at INR 13,302
HTC's new phone, Desire 516 has a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) LCD display, dual-SIM device and runs on 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It has a pixel density of 220ppi. and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm QSC6270 processor. It runs on 1GB of RAM and has Adreno 302 GPU. It comes with 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB.
It sports a 5-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and backside-illuminated sensor (BSI), and it also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs on a 1950mAh battery that is expected deliver up to 9 hours of talk time. The smartphone will be available in Black and White color variants.
