GSF Accelerator is a tech accelerator founded by Rajesh Sawhney with a focus on mobile, local, social and cloud. The accelerator was launched in 2011 and alongside its programs it conducts conferences that get many of the ecosystem players together. Building on the GSF #WhereDoWeGoNow conference in Bangalore, #GSF2014 was conducted in New Delhi. The conference had some of the portfolio companies pitching, and the second day also had a 10 km run. "10 VCs pitched their next billion dollar ideas where investors gave some excellent ideas to the audience. The panel discussions on mergers & acquisitions and the one on failures were the key highlights from the events," says Brij Bhasin, the operating partner at GSF.

Building on the momentum, GSF also announced the global accelerator program. “Twelve technology startups will be chosen for the accelerator, eight from India and four through our strategic alliance partners in South East Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa. The 12-week program begins in India and ends in Silicon Valley,” says Rajesh Sawhney. The objective of the GSF Global Accelerator Program is to provide a platform for Indian and emerging world tech entrepreneurs to incubate, develop and establish themselves in global markets.

This program will have four stopovers. Starting in mid-April in India, the team will spend four weeks with GSF in Delhi and Bangalore. The teams will then be in Singapore for two weeks at 'The Hub' and then two weeks on the East Coast of North America at a digital hub. The final four weeks will be spent in the Silicon Valley. The program will end with four demo days, one each in San Francisco, aNorth American city, Singapore and India.

Rajesh says, "These 12 startups will get an opportunity to deeply immerse in global tech hubs of the world. The exposure will provide them a platform to launch their products globally." This move is in line with the recent turn of events where Little Eye Labs, a GSF-funded company got acquired by Facebook and GSF pushing more and more of their companies for a global position. The plan is to do two batches over the next 12 month period with total of 23-25 companies.
