Startup Savetime will help people find the 'right' doctor nearby

Technology has started playing a pivotal role in every segment of life and one of the biggest areas where it can help is healthcare. There are numerous ventures that have come up in India and one of the newer entrants in the space is Savetime. The focus of Savetime currently is to help people find the right doctor around them and the larger picture is to provide an integrated technology platform to connect patients with providers. Targeting tech savvy users in urban areas, Savetime tries to help people answer questions like - What type of doctor should I see? Who should I trust? Will I be overcharged? We help in quenching all these questions.

Conceived in June 2012, Savetime is co-founded by Mitesh Bohra, Siddharth Sethi and Avinash Sethi. Mitesh holds an MBA degree from Columbia Business School, New York and Abhinav, the CTO is a tech geek who comes in with a decade plus rich experience handles technology. Keeping in mind the segment they’re targeting (migrants, tech savvy people in the age range of 20-40), the duo have focused on making the product available via both channels, web and mobile with a lot of attention on usability. The website has a lot to offer for doctors too who can manage the patients in real time and write the prescriptions digitally with maintaining long time records.

Based out of Pune, the company has about 2000+ doctors in Pune on their portal at the moment. The patient has to register himself with the site that helps the site track down the best and available doctor in their vicinity. This recommendation is mainly decided on the basis of user reviews. The site has witnessed the registration of more than 200 patients from Pune.A bootstrapped venture, Savetime currently is a twelve member team and is likely to expand. Speaking on the USP and credibility of information on the site, “We help patients fix appointment with the doctor, give out right advice, provide a rating of the doctor as well as make aware the patient about the location of the doctor as all the doctors in the list are geotagged. We collect the information directly from the doctors and hence there lies a minimal chance of error.”

The portal is free for the patients and the revenue model is based around offerings for the doctor. Mitesh shares his vision, “General consensus from various sources puts the number of doctors in India at close to 1 million out which 100K in Maharashtra alone. We want to add more cities to our cart and provide customised services to our patient who can manage their digital history comprehensively.” Savetime also has a heavy focus on mobile and would be relying on their app a lot going forward.
