iDubba introduces iTRPs- An Alternate TV Show Rating System

iDubba, a morpheus gang company that raised angel money from Rajan Anandan(Google India MD), Srikant Sastri (Vivaki India head), Abhishek Rungta/Pallav Nadhani (seeders.in) and few others has recently introduced a rating system for television channels, iTRP. At the core, iDubba helps you quickly find Indian Television programs of interest and rewards you for watching your choice of programs.

Along with its various features, such as intelligent alerts and a mobile app on Android and iOS, this new feature is aimed at discovering good content on television.

The iTRP system works as follows -

• Any TV viewer from India can contribute to iTRPs
• People tune in to the programs/channels they are watching using iDubba’s platform
• This can be done using iDubba’s website, Android/iPhone apps or simply an SMS to register what's being watched (Check how to register your “Tune in” for iTRPs)
• iTRPs are calculated both Daily and Weekly and are shown in real time on the iTRP page (as against the current weekly TRP structure)

A spokesperson from iDubba said "Its just like in a democracy, everyone has a right to influence TRPs. It is a self-volunteered initiative, no one forces anyone to tune in and because of sheer numbers (accessibility), iTRPs can never be rigged.
