We've had ample proof that an eCommerce venture cannot work without good financial backing; be it yours or the investors money. Likes of Flipkart and Jabong have made a mark with investors' money while few cases like Infibeam have been able to do it on their own strength. Former CEO of Reliance Trends, Arun Sirdeshmukh, and Global e-commerce expert, Darpan Munjal, had combined their rich and varied experience across fashion retail and e-commerce, to launch Fashionara. In an announcement today, Fashionara launched its Express Delivery service to eight cities. The Express Delivery service will be available across Bangalore,Delhi, Mumbai,Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Vadodara. Customers in these cities will be able to receive their orders within 24 hrs of making the online purchase, for an additional fee.“Apparel and fashion are impulse purchases, and instant gratification is an integral part of such a purchase. We believe that the delivery experience is one of the critical factors based on which the shopper determines his / her online experience”, said Arun Sirdeshmukh, Co-founder and CEO, Fashionara.com.

Fashionara.com offers access to luxury brands, video catalogues and lookbooks. The e-fashion mall has features like – guaranteed overnight delivery in multiple cities, shopping on Facebook, curated apparel and even a one-of-its-kind returns policy. An Avendus report indicates that quicker delivery assurances and options to decide on when to get the product delivered will become the primary decision-making factors affecting online purchases. The segment is growing and with the financial clout behind its back, Fashionara might be the next big eCommerce story, success or failure story, that remains to be seen.
