Mauka Receives Funding from North Alley India Pvt. Ltd.

Today, Hyderabad based startup, Mauka that connects corporates and colleges to help students find internship opportunities,  announced that they have secured seed-stage funding from the North Alley Group of companies, an incubation firm that supports early stage startups. The amount of funding is undisclosed.

Mauka was started by three undergraduates from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad in March 2011 and has gained significant traction since then. So far they have connected 40 corporates to students from 15 colleges.

Mauka is a 6 member team and looking to hire sales and marketing professionals. Mauka provides opportunities to students in the form of internships, summer projects, freelance projects, etc. Mauka team is ramping up efforts to come up with a product, moving away from the consulting model. Commenting on the product announcement, co-founder Santosh Yellajosula said, "We've a good foothold in the market currently and this funding will help us concentrate more on the product that we're building." The product is a comprehensive placement management solution for colleges and will be launched by the end of August. The funding will primarily be used for fine-tuning the product and expanding their team.

Speaking about the investors, Santosh said, "We receive a lot of support in terms of technology and strategic advise from North Alley, apart from the money.
